Text design for a book blending poetry, nature writing and memoir by Elizabeth-Jane Burnett.
The book required a template that could accommodate the transitions between poetry and prose. I set each poem on its own page with a slight drop, to give space for the content to breathe and a pause from the continuous prose. I also created bespoke styles for a number of poems to embody the author’s vision for them to, for example, create a certain shape or take on a more tabular form.
