TEXT DESIGN
Text design for a book by Gabrielle de la Puente and Zarina Muhammad, collectively known as The White Pube.
The brief was to create a text design suitable for continuous reading, but evoking the look and feel of The White Pube website and blog, which is colourful and heavy in GIFs and icons, with predominantly short-form pieces. I mirrored the blog by employing Helvetica and using bold, large chapter titles, ragged text, and spaces between paragraphs rather than indented run-on text as would be standard for a paperback. I also made a feature of elements such as text message exchanges, using a staggered design evocative of digital spaces.
